A KIDDERMINSTER pupil has taken home a handful of top medals after taking part in the annual Dwarf Sports Association games.
Archie Macey, aged nine, competed in track, swimming, cycling and football events alongside others with dwarfism at the games last Bank Holiday weekend.
The Franche Primary School pupil won a total of two gold medals for swimming, two silver in the track events, and a bronze medal in football.
The medals were presented by British Paralympic swimmer Ellie Simmonds, who was first discovered at the DSA games.
This was Archie’s first time at the annual event, which is now in its 19th year.
The track events took place at Alexander Stadium in Perry Barr, the cycling at the Aldersley Leisure Village in Wolverhampton, and the swimming and football at the Cheslyn Hay Leisure Centre in Walsall.
Archie will take part in next year's games, as well as the upcoming Midlands regional games.
Archie’s mum Michelle said: “It makes you so proud and very emotional watching these children taking part. It’s just brilliant.
“He will continue to do this now until adulthood, with a family of others like him.
“We could not have been with a better group of people over the weekend.
“Archie finally got to meet Ellie, who has made him realise what he can achieve."
