WYRE Forest charity KEMP Hospice has added more acts to its first ever music festival line-up, including multi-chart topper Max George from The Wanted.
The charity is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year and will be hosting a charity concert at the SHED in Crossway Green on Sunday, August 18.
Other acts set to perform include 80s band Fuzzbox and Sweet Female Attitude, who will be sharing the stage alongside local bands and performers for a day-long family friendly festival.
Max, former lead singer with The Wanted, has just released his second solo single, Better On Me, following years of success with the UK pop band.
The Wanted released three albums between 2009 and 2014 and sold over two million singles in the UK, including 10 top 10 singles and two number one hits.
Before launching his solo career, Max George starred in the finale season of hit TV series Glee.
KEMPfest organiser Shelley Stanley said: “The Wanted were one of the biggest boybands of the noughties and 2010s and produced massive hits like the global number one Glad You Came, Chasing The Sun and All Time Low.
Max has told me he is going to be performing all of these hits at KEMPfest with his live band, as well as his first solo single Barcelona, which has been streamed over four million times on Spotify, plus his brand new song Better On Me, which is amazing.
"KEMPfest is shaping up to be a fantastic day out for the whole family with so many different performers on stage and different genres of music.
"It will be a great way to mark KEMP’s 50th anniversary and for everyone to get together to celebrate.”
Shelley added: “We’ve already announced Fuzzbox are going to perform some of their biggest hits and we have Sweet Female Attitude joining us too who had one of the biggest selling songs of the year 2000. Flowers was a huge hit and it has become a cult hit again after being covered this year by Bastille and James Arthur."
There will also be local bands performing, including The Institutions, Kev from The Murmur, Secret Cabaret and solo performers like Chloe Mogg and Meg Shaw.
The festival will also feature a comedy tent, family activities, a funfair, real ale and beer tent, community karaoke as well as festival food and merchandise.
Money from the ticket sales will go towards KEMP's work across the Wyre Forest area.
Tickets are being offered at a discount rate until May 31. Visit kemphospice.org.uk/kempfest or call 01562 756077.
