A 17-YEAR-OLD boy has been arrested after a man suffered serious injuries in an assault in Kidderminster at the weekend.
Police were called to Park Lane at around 11.15pm on Saturday, June 1 following a report of concern for a man's welfare.
Officers arrived to find a man in his early 20s with serious injuries.
He was treated at the scene by officers and taken to hospital by ambulance.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We were called to Park Lane at 11.16pm on Saturday night to reports of an assault. We sent one ambulance and a paramedic officer to the scene.
"On arrival we discovered one patient - a man. He was treated serious injuries at the scene before being transported to hospital for further assessment."
West Mercia Police said today that the victim's injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
A scene guard was in place on Sunday while forensic teams carried out an investigation.
A 17-year-old boy from Kidderminster was arrested in connection with the attack and has since been released on bail.
Police are now appealing for witnesses.
A spokesman said: "Enquiries are ongoing and officers are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area or who witnessed anything at the time.
"Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting incident 902s of June 1."
