A RESIDENT at a Wolverley care home has celebrated her 104th birthday.
Margaret Brown has been at Nightingales of Kidderminster in Wolverley for just over a year, having lived in the Kidderminster area for most of her life.
While raising her three sons at the family's home in Middleton Road, Margaret also worked at a shop in Walton Road as a demonstrator for Singer, an American manufacturer of sewing machines, and taught other people how to use the equipment.
Bea Millichap, senior carer at Nightingales of Kidderminster, said: "Margaret is a sweetheart. She joins in with the quizzes and art classes that we hold here at the home. She's so active for her age."
Margaret celebrated her 104th birthday on Thursday, May 30 with a visit from one of her oldest friends and two of her sons.
She also enjoyed a slice of a birthday cake, sent all the way from her son who lives in Australia.
