A MAN from Stourport avoided jail after pleading guilty to assaulting a man and causing him actual bodily harm.
Appearing at Kidderminster Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, October 15, Luke Lloyd, of Princess Way, pleaded guilty to the attack, which took place in Stourport on August 6.
A community order was made, requiring 33-year-old Lloyd to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work.
He must also pay £250 in compensation and a victim surcharge of £85.
In another case, a man was jailed for a month for stealing a computer controller from Sainsbury's.
Daniel Cox, aged 32, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty on Saturday (October 19) to stealing a £19.99 controller from the Kidderminster supermarket the previous day.
The theft was committed while Cox was on licence and breached the terms of a conditional discharge.
Magistrates said the crime was made worse by the defendant's record of previous offending and jailed him for four weeks.
At Kidderminster Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, October 16, a Kidderminster man was found guilty of assault by beating.
Jose Holden, of Mill Lane, denied the attack on a man in Kidderminster on February 13 this year but was found guilty by magistrates.
The 26-year-old was fined £120 and ordered to pay compensation of £50 plus a £30 victim surcharge and £250 in court costs.
