A 38-YEAR-OLD man from Kidderminster was handed a suspended jail sentence for stealing candles and fabric fresheners.
Robert Such, of Marlpool Lane, pleaded guilty to two counts of theft when he appeared at Kidderminster Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, October 22.
Such stole £208 worth of Yankee Candles from Sainsbury's in Kidderminster and fabric fresheners and laundry pods to the value of £46 from Tesco on September 9 this year.
Magistrates sentenced him to 13 weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months, and said his crimes were made more serious by his previous record of offending.
Such was also ordered to pay £254 in compensation plus a victim surcharge of £122.
No order was made for court costs due to the defendant's lack of means.
