A CARE home in Bewdley has shared a video of its staff and elderly residents doing the conga to lift people's spirits during the coronavirus lockdown.
Summerdyne Nursing Home recorded its residents dancing in the sunshine earlier this week to share with family members while they are unable to visit in person.
The video, which has received more than 130 likes and 50 comments on Facebook, shows staff spinning residents around in their wheelchairs and arm chairs while others dance to Black Lace's Do the Conga.
Activities co-ordinator Sarah Beard told The Shuttle: "We're all on lockdown so that means no visitors and we just thought it would be a nice as a nursing home, where we can't keep a two-metre distance to everyone, to get out in our grounds and do something to lift spirits.
"We decided to get out in the sunshine and have a bit of fun.
"It's nothing different to what we normally do - it was very spur of the moment - but we thought it was a nice idea to do a video to show residents' families who can't visit at the moment and the community what we get up to."
Sarah added: "At the moment, it’s a hugely worrying time for our residents so we're keeping everything as normal as possible.
"The response to the video has been huge. All the family members had positive feedback - they thought it was lovely."
