A HOME care company in Kidderminster has opened 50 caregiver vacancies and is appealing to people who have lost their jobs during the pandemic to apply.

Home Instead Kidderminster is hoping to boost employment in the area by hiring 50 new caregivers to meet an increase in demand since the Covid outbreak.

The company says it is particularly interested to hear from people who have been made redundant as a result of business closures in the area, including ex-staff from the town's Debenhams and Frankie and Benny's which both closed during lockdown last year.

Melissa Rogers, recruitment co-ordinator of Home Instead Kidderminster, said: “Across the area, people and businesses are suffering the devastating effects of the virus and we are all living in uncertain times.

"If you have faced redundancy and want to try something new or are already performing a caring role, we would love you to consider working for Home Instead as we seek to recruit 50 enthusiastic and kind people to join our team of fantastic caregivers.”

The job vacancies are open to people with or without sector experience - Home Instead says "a warm heart and desire to make a difference is prized over previous experience".

The company provides services from companionship through to personal care and specialised dementia care.

Out of the 50 caregivers that they are recruiting for, 10 of them are live-in caregivers who move into a client’s home and provide care.
