TEN staff have gone into self-isolation after an outbreak of Covid-19 at a business on a Kidderminster industrial estate.

Family members and close contacts of the staff at Signal Traffic Management on the Hoobrook Estate are being identified and told to self-isolate as well.

The firm says enhanced safety precautions have been brought in and daily checks are being carried out.

It is understood there are about 20 office staff at the business, in the headquarters of the firm’s national operations, involving depots across the UK.

The company specialize in traffic management, including on motorways, organizing temporary closures, diversions, installing temporary traffic lights, narrow lane systems, contraflows and pedestrian crossings.

The 10 staff have been told to self-isolate for 10 days.

Dr Kathryn Cobain, director for Public Health for Worcestershire, said: “Public Health partners are working closely with the business to ensure prevention measures are in place and we continue to work collectively to monitor the situation and to ensure all necessary action is taken.”

The company’s managing director, Sarah Eaton, said: “The well being of our staff, customers and partners is of paramount importance to us.

“We are actively engaging with Public Health partners, following government guidance and taking enhanced safety precautions.

“We are conducting daily well-being check-ins to support our staff working remotely and continue to work closely with Worcestershire Regulatory Services whilst continuing ‘key worker’ operations from our depot locations.”
