WORCESTERSHIRE is home to beautiful rolling hills, notable figure… and some of the UK’s strangest street names.
Some of these street names are wholly unusual- while others are on the ruder side of the spectrum.
Here are five Worcestershire streets and areas with risqué and cheeky names:
Minge Lane
Do you live on Minge Lane?
In 2014, Minge Lane in Upton-upon-Severn was ranked as the most embarrassing streets in the country.
According to Zoopla, it pays to live on such a crudely named street as the average property value of this street is £345,169 (according to Zoopla)- which is more than £48,000 more valuable than the average property value in Worcestershire.
Lickey End
This village is in the Bromsgrove District of Worcestershire.
The questionable name aside, it’s a beautiful area of Worcestershire.
If you ever pay a visit make sure to visit Lickey Hills Country Park, which is a great walking spot.
According to Zoopla, the average house price in Lickey End is £339,754- and property value has jumped by £26,914 in the last year.
Bell End
Deep in the heart of the Bromsgrove District there is a village called Bell End- and it’s not too far from Lickey End.
In 2016, Bell End near Belbroughton beat Brown Willy and Boggy Bottom to the top spot in a list of Britain's funniest place names - as voted for by the public.
However, local residents aren’t entirely happy with the place name and appealed for a new road name back in 2018.
Some residents described it as offensive, calling upon Sandwell Council to change the name after becoming a “laughing stock”.
Cockshot Lane
Have you ever visited this cheekily named lane?
It’s the lengthy road between Dormston and Kington.
A number of houses and The Red Hart pub border the road.
If you want to buy a house on Cockshot Lane then you could be looking at a very lucrative investment- they are currently valued at £486,574 which is over £100,000 more than the average price paid for a house on the lane.
North Piddle
This might be the tamest Worcestershire area name on the list- but it’s still worth a small giggle.
It’s a small civil parish in the Wychavon district.
According to Zoopla, the average house in North Piddle is valued at a whopping £888,516- a six per cent increase in 12 months.
