BEN Parker picked up a five wicket haul for Kidderminster but couldn't prevent them from suffering a 39 run reverse against Knowle and Dorridge in Birmingham League Premier One.
Runs proved at a premium as Knowle and Dorridge took a full 50 overs to reach a modest total of 131 all out, Sam Reddish with 30 and Neil Dexter on 28 providing the bulk of that total.
Impressive Ben Parker produced figures of five for 44 from 14 overs while the ever reliable Liam Weston captured three for 20 off 11 overs.
There was also a welcome return for Nathan Round who nabbed one for 12 from his seven overs with Chris Steele, 1-23 from 12 overs maintaining Kidderminster's tight rein on the batting.
But in reply, Kidderminster fared even worse with the bat after being bundled out for just 92 runs after 35 overs.
Former Middlesex and Leicester player Neil Dexter did most of the damage with five for 29 from 13 overs while swing bowler Chris Cheslin claimed three for eight off just 21 balls.
Wicketkeeper Vikai Dass with 27 was the only Kidderminster batsman to make it past 20 as the Chester Road side fell short.
Smethwick snatched a last gasp victory over Barnt Green by scraping home with just three balls to spare.
The Green found themselves on the back foot from the word go when Smethwick strike bowler Mian Gul produced a devastating opening spell to remove England star Tom Banton who fell lbw for 4, while Warwickshire's Ed Pollock perished for just two.
At 68 for seven, the Green were in real trouble but it was younger brother Jacques Banton with 49 and Robbie Shurmer on 37 not out who turned matters around by taking the total to 155 all out in 52.2 overs.
That meant Smethwick had 57 overs back in reply and those extra deliveries were to prove vital as Smethwick snatched victory on 159 for eight.
Qamar Khan with 45 and Gurinder Singh on 39 not out did enough to secure Smethwick's success despite the efforts of Andy Sutton who snapped up four for 51.
SKIPPER Ollie Westbury led from the front as Himley helped themselves to an exciting four run success over Harborne.
Westbury carried his bat for exactly 100 runs to help Himley reach 181 for six from a full 55 overs.
Together with Bilaal Hussain the pair put on 84 for the first wicket before Jasper Davidson applied the brake by taking four for 34.
Davidson then dramatically threatened to take the game away from Himley and had made 60 in reply when he was sensationally run out with two balls remaining leaving Harborne on 177 all out.
Ben Robinson reeled off figures of five for 44 from 12 overs to help take Himley up to fifth place in Premier Division Two.
Bromsgove had the better of a drawn contest with high flying Halesowen.
Worcestershire wicketkeeper Alex Milton made 73 not out and found a willing partner in Ashley Newfield who netted a further 57 runs.
The pair put on 121 for the third wicket as Bromsgrove set a target of 169 for three to chase despite the presence of Worcestershire strike bowler Charlie Morris in the Halesowen ranks who took one for 34 from 11 overs while Ed Bragg claimed one for 24 off overs.
Halesowen made a promising start to their reply through openers Jamie Harrison with 35 and Jamie Harris, 39, the pair putting on 68 for the first wicket.
Harry Baddams added a further 31 before Freddie Fallows took effect, ripping out Halesowen's top order to take five for 51 from his 13 over spell.
Fallows efficiently applied the brake as Halesowen were forced to close on 147 for eight from a reduced 42 overs.
