A HUGE housing estate is in the early stages of a planning application- with 1,400 new homes, a doctors surgery, primary school and community hall proposed.
A public consultation is being held for the colossal development, called Woven Oaks, on land off Comberton Road in east Kidderminster.
The land is currently farmland and is understood a house on the site will be demolished if plans are approved.
Developer, Taylor Wimpey, are also proposing new publicly accessible green space, including a community orchard and play space and a later living facility providing a level of on-site care.
In the proposals, it states: "The proposals are for a well-planned, well-connected, and highly sustainable extension to Kidderminster on a site identified for housing in the emerging Wyre Forest District Council Local Plan.
"With healthy living and sustainability at their core, the draft plans are a solution for Kidderminster’s growth.
"The proposals would provide a mix of new homes to meet local requirements while creating new, publicly accessible, green space.
"The plans would also inject additional investment into the town and contribute to improvements in infrastructure."
It is estimated, that the development will take 15 years to build and £211 million will be invested.
Zoe Curnow, senior strategic land and planning manager at Taylor Wimpey Strategic Land said: “Kidderminster is growing and it’s crucial that this happens in a sustainable way.
"These proposals for Woven Oaks provide a combination of homes, green and public space, services and infrastructure all carefully coordinated and all thoughtfully planned out.
"Now we’re asking the community for feedback to help us refine the proposals and to ensure they reflect local priorities.
"Once we’ve consulted, we look forward to submitting the best possible proposals and to contributing to the future success of the town”.
Feedback provided during the consultation period will be considered ahead of a planning application being submitted to Wyre Forest District Council later this year.
The public consultation will run from Thursday July 8 to Thursday July 29 2021.
