THE manager of a Chaddesley Corbett petrol station that has opened late for NHS and frontline staff said supplies are "fine" but the forecourt is "extremely busy" as the fuel crisis continues.
Chaddesley Fuel Station stayed open last night (Tuesday September 28) and will do so again on Friday (October 1) for NHS, emergency services workers and care workers with ID badges.
Appearing on Good Morning Britain this morning, manager Dani Tooth updated hosts Suzanna Reid and Alistair Campbell on the situation on the forecourt.
Bosses at the station on Kidderminster Road decided to open for an extra 90 minutes until 10.30pm on Saturday to help frontline workers fill up on petrol and diesel in response to huge queues at petrol stations as panic-buying added to fuel supply issues caused by a lack of HGV drivers.
Suzanna Reid asked: "So what happens when drivers come up to the garage in those hours, I know you have extended the hours, and they say 'I'm desperate for the fuel' but they are not an NHS or frontline worker. There's a lot of people with very good reasons to fill up aren't there?"
Ms Tooth replied: "If it is quiet on the forecourt at that time then they can fill up but we are turning people away when there is a queue because we open specifically for the NHS and fire, police, that sort of thing."
Petrol Station Manager Danni Tooth is prioritising frontline workers as the fuel chaos continues.

She told the ITV show that supplies were "fine" adding: "We would normally have three to four deliveries a week but at the moment we're averaging two a day."
She said that the station was still "extremely busy" and added: "I assume that within time everyone will have a full tank of fuel so it may calm down then but at the moment we're not really seeing it calm down to a full extent."
