THE festive season has arrived in Hartlebury with the arrival of the very first Christmas tree on the village green.
The tree was officially switched on Sunday November 28, postponed a day due to Storm Arwen and the Christmas Fayre was also cancelled.
The postponement did not dampen the festive spirit, with children from Hartlebury Primary School adding baubles they had made for the occasion.
It is the first time the village green has had a Christmas tree and comes after Hartlebury Parish Council was awarded cash through the New Homes Bonus Scheme to spend on the village.
A Christmas tree was the most popular choice, so the Parish Council got to work to get it installed.
Parish councillor Laura Meredith said: "We're hoping to put an another event next year and hopefully we will have better weather."
It is is hoped that the Christmas tree will become an annual tradition
