Kidderminster’s history is intrinsically linked to the carpet industry, with the majority of Kidderminster’s community today having family connections to one or more of the various carpet factories.
These photos from the archives are an insight into employees’ lives, showcasing work life, leisure, sporting events and special celebrations.
The Museum of Carpet hosts an extensive collection of photographs and memorabilia in their archives as well as original copies of the Kidderminster Shuttle dating back to 1870.
You can view the archives by appointment. The collections team are able to get any materials you request ready for your visit.
If you are interested in tracing your family connections, get in touch with the collections team. Email at enquiries@museumofcarpet.org.uk or phone on 01562 69028 to book a visit to the archive.
