A KIDDERMINSTER man has been jailed after a fatal crash in Stourport last May.

Sebastian Wdowczyk of Hurcott Road has been sentenced to three years in prison after admitting death by dangerous driving.

The offence took place on Lower Lickhill Road, Stourport on May 30.

Wdowczyk was driving the car at 4 am with his friend Saturnin Micajow as a front-seat passenger.

The car collided with a large tree at speed, causing substantial damage to the vehicle and resulting in Saturnin becoming trapped, causing serious injuries.

He received advanced life support on the scene before being taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he sadly died.

Wdowczyk, who also received serious injuries from the crash, admitted travelling too fast and provided a positive breath test at the scene.

Later blood samples also showed levels of drugs BZE and Amphetamine.

The 36-year-old, who was sentenced on March 31 at Worcester Crown Court, is also banned from driving for four and half years.

Superintendent Steph Brighton from West Mercia Police said: “Road safety and roads policing is a high priority for our force.

"We see too often the impact that such behaviour can lead to on our roads and our officers will do all they can to ensure motorists that are not using our roads responsibly do not evade the law.”
