A KIDDERMINSTER man has been jailed after obstructing a railway train whilst under the influence of alcohol.
Darren Gallagher, of Groves Way, Hartlebury, admitted obstructing an engine at the University Railway Station in Birmingham.
The incident happened back in February this year.
Appearing at Kidderminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday, April 25, the 39-year-old was committed to prison for ten weeks.
The reason for the custodial sentence was due to the seriousness of the offence, which was committed under the influence of alcohol and caused a high level of disruption.
Gallagher was also ordered to pay a £128 surcharge to fund victim services.
The defendant’s guilty plea was taken into account when the sentence was imposed.
