A WYRE Forest band promises to have you rocking and rolling to all the greats during a special performance in aid of the Back on Track appeal.
Members of Lyvewyre said they would be putting on a show to remember at the King and Castle pub, Kidderminster, on Friday, March 7 with all the proceeds going towards the appeal.
Guitarist, Richard Yates, said the band specialised in playing a range of classic covers from legends such as Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry and Gerry and the Pacemakers, as well as "crowd favourites", the Beatles.
Mr Yates added: "Youngsters get up and dance to this music, even though they were not alive when it was first played. It's just magic music. It will never go away."
He said the band members were brought together by their shared love of the music and that included his 15-year-old son, Chris. Mr Yates said Chris got all the applause and was a "natural" on the keyboard.
He added: "Chris has got no nerves whatsoever. He's been performing for years, after starting to play when he was six."
Mr Yates is a member of Wyre Forest Cycle Racing Club and used to use the facilities in the Stourport Sports Club clubhouse before the building was destroyed in the fire.
He said: "When we saw the appeal in the Shuttle/Times & News, we thought we should put on an event to help raise funds. It was as simple as that, really. You have to do something for the community sometimes."
He added: "Sport is all about the youngsters coming through. The clubhouse was an inspiration to them and it's vital that Stourport Hockey Club and Kidderminster and Stourport Athletic Club can carry on."
He explained the clubs were a "mainstay" for people in Wyre Forest and that if the equipment was not replaced they would "fall to pieces".
He added: "We are looking forward to March 7 and we know it's going to be a really good night out that will help boost the appeal. "
Lyvewyre have played at several venues over the past few years, including the Gilt Edge Club in Kidderminster and various social clubs.
Tickets cost £6 each and the night's entertainment starts at 8pm. The venue at the Severn Valley Railway Station in Comberton Hill will hold 120 people and a raffle will be held to help swell the fund-raising.
