WI - On February 20, Chris Jordan welcomed nine visitors from Stoke Prior, the twinned WI, to the meeting, plus one new member. The summer outing on June 18 to Coventry and Ryton Organic Gardens has been booked.
Val Woods' picture appeared in the WI News, as she took part in the Upstairs, Downstairs' demonstration of Christmas dishes at the Victorian Christmas event. The idea to form a theatre group was well received. Val Wood and Kay Palmer will investigate programmes of local theatres to visit.
Gren Jones gave a talk on the work being done by Woodland Trust, mainly managing areas of woodland, planting native trees in sympathy with the landscapes, getting local adults and children involved in volunteer work.
The next meeting is on March 19 from 2pm to 4pm at Chaddesley Village Hall, when Mary Coleman will demonstrate bobbin lace making. Visitors and new members welcome.
