WORCESTERSHIRE AUDIO VISUAL GROUP - The February meeting was the annual competition. Members had been provided with a CD disc with 30 miscellaneous pictures recorded on them, and were asked to make an audio visual sequence from them.

Eleven sequences were projected, all very different, some comical, some serious, others contemporary. In joint third place were David and Marcia Tennant and Keith Bennett and second were Hillary and Ian Templeton. The overall winner was Harry Hunt.

The group meets on the third Thursday in the month at The Community Centre, Shaw Hedge Road, Wribbenhall, Bewdley at 7.30pm. New members welcome.

DIABETES UK - The AGM will be held on Wednesday, March 19 at 7.30pm at Kidderminster Hospital Treatment Centre Lecture Rooms, Bewdley Road.

The guest speaker is Dr Paul Newrick, diabetologist. Lyn Gilbert and Dawn Edwards, diabetes specialist nurses, will also be in attendance. Everyone welcome. Entry, refreshments and car parking are free.

HISTORICAL RESEARCH GROUP - After a successful family history surgery at Stourport Library, the group will be holding the second in this series on Monday. It will take place on the first floor of Kidderminster Library between 1pm and 4 pm.

It is a drop in session and free for anyone needing advice on tracing their family history. For information, contact Moira Brown on 01562 756903 or wfhrg@hotmail.co.uk WORCESTERSHIRE WILDLIFE TRUST - The visit to the Wildlife and Wetlands Trust at Slimbridge on February 16 was supported by 33 members, who had a conducted tour of part of the reserve with a volunteer guide who helped with the identification of many unusual wildfowl.

On Sunday, there will be a visit to the Christopher Cadbury Wetland Reserve at Upton Warren, meeting with the voluntary warden Arthur Jacobs.

Meet at 10am at the Moors Pool car park off the A38 Bromsgrove to Droitwich road.

The next indoor meeting is on Thursday, March 13 at 7.30pm at the Corn Exchange, Kidderminster Town Hall. Wade Muggleton will give an illustrated talk on gardening for people and wildlife.

Everyone is welcome to attend both indoor and outdoor meetings.
