A WYRE Forest schoolboy has been awarded a prestigious scholarship.
Harry Murdoch, 10, a pupil of Franche Community Primary School, has won a junior school scholarship for 2008 at Old Swinford Hospital School in Stourbridge.
The scholarship will cover 90 per cent of the boarding fees charged by the governors and Harry will be presented with a scholar's medal.
He will also be invited to participate in several scholars activities during his time at the school.
Val Weddell-Hall, headteacher at Franche Community Primary School, said: "We are delighted for Harry.
"This is a prestigious award and he should feel rightly proud of his achievement, as we are."
She added: "This is a fantastic opportunity and one I'm sure Harry will take full advantage of."
