WYRE Forest residents preparing to spruce up their homes are being encouraged to make any unwanted possessions available for re-use.
Worcestershire County Council's waste prevention team wants people to think twice about what they throw out during their annual spring clean.
Chris Atkinson, the council's project development officer, said: "Spring is often the time we choose to tidy and improve our home, while organising our belongings.
"We are encouraging people to remember to send their unwanted possessions for re-use while they de-clutter their home.
"In Worcestershire many voluntary and community organisations gladly take unwanted items that are still in good condition, such as furniture, electrical appliances, bicycles and paint.
"These items are then made available to other members of the community. Re-using valuable resources in this way can help to reduce waste and also support a host of good causes in the process."
A leaflet containing details of the county's local re-use organisations is available from the council.
