U3A - At the February meeting at the new venue of the Corn Exchange, Kidderminster, Ed Shore gave a talk on Arizona. SEVERN SIDE RAMBLERS - A walk of about eight miles around Dymock has been organised for Sunday.

Ramblers are asked to meet at the Memorial Park Gates, Park Avenue, Stourport, at 9am prompt. Transport can be arranged. New walkers will be made welcome.

FELLOWSHIP CLUB - At the meeting held on February 26 at Kidderminster Golf Club, members and guests enjoyed a talk from Steve Gillespie.

Steve lives locally and had recently cycled in the Peruvian Andes on a sponsored event for charity and spoke of his experiences. He showed some dramatic pictures of the mountains he had travelled through and related some stories about the people he had met.

The proceeds of the raffle were donated to Macmillan Cancer Relief as this was the charity Steve had selected to support on his adventure.

DIABETES UK - The AGM will be held on Wednesday at 7.30pm at Kidderminster Hospital Treatment Centre Lecture Rooms, Bewdley Road.

The guest speaker is Dr Paul Newrick, diabetologist. Lyn Gilbert and Dawn Edwards, diabetes specialist nurses, will also be in attendance. Entry, refreshments and car parking are free.

FRIENDSHIP CENTRE - At the recent meeting the speaker failed to arrive, so member Eric Rowland gave an account on Scout hut building. Another member, Margaret Heng, spoke about her rewarding experiences teaching partially sighted children.

The next meeting on Thursday, March 20 at 10am at Lickhill Community Centre, Memorial Park, Stourport, will include a talk by Ken Durnell on the Kidderminster and Stourport electric tramway .

WORCESTERSHIRE M.E. SUPPORT GROUP - All people with M.E. (myalgic encephalomyelitis), CFS (chronic fatigue syndrome), and FMS (fibromyalgia), their carers, friends and relatives, are welcome to go along to the group's gatherings where relevant useful information is available.

There is a meeting at Kidderminster Library, Market Street, on Wednesday, March 19 from 1.30pm to 3.30pm.

BRITISH SUGARCRAFT GUILD - The Wyre Forest branch will be holding its monthly meeting at Stourport Community Centre, Memorial Park, Lickhill Road, Stourport, tonight at 7.30pm, when Tony Warren will be demonstrating an exotic orchid. Tony is one of the top demonstrators in the art of sugar flowers.

The group welcomes any visitors to meetings, which are held on the second Thursday of each month when a range of sugarcraft skills, from covering a cake to hand-crafted flowers are demonstrated.
