PEOPLE are being reminded never to give out bank details after a Kidderminster woman received a scam e-mail.
The victim received an e-mail from a French e-mail address, requesting financial information so the sender could supposedly send her millions of dollars. It mentioned it was to help a dying woman's family. The victim realised it was a scam and did not respond to it.
A police spokesperson said: "There are numerous scams, some of which are convincing, and people do need to be on their guard.
"Anyone who receives an e-mail or letter asking for their bank details or saying they have won prizes or been left money is urged to delete it or bin it immediately.
"No-one should be tempted to respond and they should remember that if something sounds too good to be true, it usually is."
