SOME of the finest arrow throwers ever to grace an oche are set to clash when the legends of darts fly into Kidderminster.

Celebrity players Eric Bristow, John Lowe, Keith Deller and Cliff Lazarenko will go head-to-head and also tackle local players in what is set to be an electric night of exhibition darts at the Glades Arena on Saturday, May 24.

The quartet of bullseye bagging machines will be joined by special guest and world number five Terry The Bull' Jenkins, while the BBC's voice of darts, Russ Bray, will be keeping a close eye on the action.

Organiser Matt Sheehan, who runs equipment manufacturers DartMate, said: "We just want to make sure everybody who comes along has a really great night of entertainment.

"Darts' popularity is on the rise and this would be the perfect opportunity for people to see some of its most famous names in action."

Five-time World Champion Bristow may reprise his rivalry with Lowe, who has has won five BDO major tournaments during an illustrious career.

Twelve local players from the Bewdley, Stourport and Kidderminster leagues will get a chance to tackle the quartet after winning local qualifying tournaments.

Four members of the audience will also get a chance to test their throwing skills in doubles' matches with the legends.

As well as a feast of darts action there will be a raffle for one of Jenkins' shirts, signed by the current stars of Premier League darts, which will raise money for the Shuttle/Times & News' Back on Track Appeal.

Other darts memorabilia will be up for grabs at an auction during the night.

The Legends of Darts starts at 7.30pm and ticket information can be obtained from the box office on 01562 515151.
