VENTURE on a Eurocamp active break this summer and expect more than your average holiday of eating, drinking and sunbathing aplenty.

To coincide with National Obesity Week, which runs until Monday, the camping holiday operator is offering action packed activity holiday's with its new Action Stations to keep families fit and healthy this summer.

Eurocamp has teamed up with PGL, the UK's leading provider of adventure holidays to create the new Action Stations which will feature on two Eurocamp parcs in France - L'Atlantique in Brittany and at St. Avit Loisirs, in Le Bugue, Dordogne.

The Action Stations will give holidaymakers the chance to test their aim at archery, try their hand at abseiling or test their nerve on the climbing wall and for a real adrenalin rush take the plunge with a leap of faith.

Head of sales and marketing at Eurocamp, Ruth Start said:" Obesity in children is rising at an alarming rate and families need to reassess lifestyle habits even on holiday to combat the problem.

"A Eurocamp holiday is more active than the conventional European beach holiday with lots of energetic activities for families including tennis, football, swimming and cycling, but our new action stations are specifically designed with action and adventure in mind."

"The Action Stations are suitable for adults and children aged seven plus and are run by professional instructors from PGL. The active holiday package is a great way for families to have fun and stay healthy on holiday in a secure, safe environment."

Activity packages can be pre-booked before departure or arranged when you arrive at the parc, and the fully qualified PGL team will be on hand to provide full guidance and all safety equipment.

Pre-booked prices start at £6 per person for an Individual Taster Session and rise to £40 for a 10 day Action Station Pass*, which allows unlimited action everyday of your holiday.
