A NEW ladies fashion store in Stourport will bring life back into the town, a Wyre Forest councillor said.
Plans, submitted by Mackays Store Ltd, for the building fronting Lombard Street and Lickhill Road, were given the green light yesterday by planning chiefs.
The site was recently in use as the town's indoor market and members of Wyre Forest District Council's Planning Development Control Committee gave their full support for the store.
The plans include modification of the building and rear extension on the existing car park to the rear.
Liberal councillor, Fran Oborski, said: "I'm going to support it.
"I think a women's wear shop is an exciting development for Stourport.
"A fashion shop is really going to pull people in.
"It's an exciting development for Stourport and it will bring life back into that end of the town."
