A 20-year-old Kidderminster woman has been given an £80 fixed penalty ticket for wasting police time.
The woman made 11 999 calls over two nights, making bogus reports of anti-social behaviour at various Wyre Forest locations. They included claims of fights taking place and youths breaking windows.
She gave various false names but was traced via her mobile phone number. When interviewed, she admitted she had been drinking and could only remember making one of the calls.
PC Kellie Irvine, of Kidderminster police, said: "False reports not only waste police time but distort crime figures.
"These alleged incidents tied up a lot of police resources and diverted officers away from dealing with genuine calls.
"We want to reassure people that reports are always taken seriously and thoroughly investigated and we do not want to deter people who genuinely have something to report from coming forward.
"However, where incidents are made up, we will take positive action, including issuing fixed penalty tickets for wasting police time."
