THIEVES were caught red-handed trying to steal a car trailer while the female owner was busy tending horses.
The blue Ford Ranger pickup, which had a trailer attached to it, was parked on Wolverhampton Road, Cookley, while the victim was tending her horses in a nearby field, on Monday.
The woman, in her 30s, saw the trailer moving and realised it was being unhitched. She ran over and saw two men pushing it, at about 2pm.
The two ran off but she discovered the glove box of her pickup had been opened and items stolen including a wallet containing £5, credit and debit cards, and a camera worth £150.
The men drove off in an old-style white Ford Transit van making off in the direction of Wolverhampton.
PC Sally Sliwinska, local policing officer, said: "We know there were two witnesses to this, a man and a woman.
"Unfortunately the victim did not obtain their details, but found out they live in Worcester, and we would like to speak to them as they may have important information."
Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to contact PC Sliwinska at Kidderminster Police Station on 08457 444888 or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
