SUPERFIT supermarket staff have been sweating buckets to raise £2,500 for Sport Relief.
Workers at Sainsbury's, Kidderminster, have taken part in several events including a combat fitness workout, collecting thousands of pounds in donations and sponsorship.
On Saturday, staff used pedal power to help raise £1,600 of the total with 387 shop workers and managers doing a mile each.
Several staff, including Pete Cahill, duty manager, did more than their fair share by clocking up more than 10 miles in their red and white Sport Relief socks.
On Wednesday last week, Ashley Hull, personal trainer at The Glades, got people fighting fit with a one-hour combat fitness class inside the store by the main entrance.
Supermarket staff collected cash from big-hearted shoppers while 16 breathless St Mary's CE Primary School pupils and two teachers high-kicked their way through the first half an hour of the exercise session.
The Kidderminster school youngsters then took over the collection buckets, while Sainsbury's staff swapped with pupils to continue with the session, with pumping dance music to keep them on their feet.
Store workers have also taken part in several sponsored events including a walk up Mount Snowdon, in Wales, and a cross-country walk around Wyre Forest.
Juliet Fox, store spokeswoman, said: "It has really touched a lot of people and they understand how important it is to raise money for Sport Relief."
