NUMBER-CRUNCHING pupils have taken part in a global maths challenge against youngsters in countries across the world.
Lickhill Community Primary School's addition addicts went up against the clock and other pupils in classrooms as far away as Australia.
The internet event was held to mark World Maths Day, on March 5.
Schools from the UK, Europe and four other continents - more than 20,000 in total - logged on to a special maths website to answer as many addition questions as possible in a minute.
Youngsters from classrooms in other countries were set the same challenge with the results updated on the computer monitor in real time.
One bright spark in Year 6 got 40 right answers being time ran out.
With well over 180 million correct answers recorded so far Lickhill were up against a lot of other bright pupils.
Caroline Worthington, maths coordinator, said: "It really motivated the children, it's very exciting people from other countries."
She added some pupils had improved the number of correct answers given by as much as 50 per cent between practice attempts.
