MUSIC and general knowledge are set to strike a chord at a charity night being staged in Kidderminster next month.

Rock band, Identity Crisis, will perform in between quiz rounds at the Chain Wire Club, Zortech Avenue, on Saturday, April 5.

The fun evening is being organised by the town's Ladies Circle, which hopes to raise hundreds of pounds for its charities - telephone helpline, Childline and Mentor Link, which offers support through listening to teenagers at Wyre Forest schools who might be experiencing difficulties.

It follows a successful fund-raiser at the Stourport Boat Club, which combined brain teasers with music from the popular band.

Circle chairman, Alaine Sheppard, said: "The mix of music and quiz was very successful first time round and we are hoping to build on that with a bigger venue, which can take 160 people.

"The two charities we are supporting are both concerned with helping children and young people and are both worthwhile causes which, we hope, people will want to support."

The first round of the quiz will get under way at 7.30pm and tickets, which have a cost attached, must be booked in advance by ringing 07712 898111 or e-mail davesheppard@AOL.com The Ladies Circle is open to women aged 18 to 45 and meets twice a month, enjoying a varied programme of activities, ranging from beer tasting and cycling to croquet and theatre trips.
