"GENEROUS" Wyre Forest people have raised £500 towards the medical treatment of a cat found badly injured in a back garden.
Bobby Boots was found by the garden's owner in Kidderminster and taken to Charnock Shepherd vets, in Comberton Hill, where he was treated thanks to the Cat Action Trust 1977 charity.
Trust volunteers launched a funding appeal after spending more than £1,000 getting the feline back on its feet with kind-hearted donors helping the charity hit the halfway mark, after just three weeks.
Coll Mealing, charity volunteer and cat-owner, said: "At the last count we had made £500, so we wanted to thank the generous people.
"We want them to know we really appreciate the money especially in these hard times when rates bills are rising."
She added the cat, aged between five and six, is now recovering at a trust volunteer's home but was still receiving treatment meaning the medical bill was rising all the time.
After being found, Bobby needed operations to treat a dislocated back leg and stitches for wounds to its two front legs, which vets believe were sustained in a road accident.
The charity's volunteers are holding a collection outside Wilsons Pet Centre in New Road, Kidderminster, between 10am and 4pm on Saturday with a portion of the donated money going towards the feline's treatment.
