THE number of Wyre Forest teens in full-time education or employment has reached its highest level in recent years.

Careers guidance organisation, Connexions, has reported 3,300 Wyre Forest and Hagley-based teenagers aged 16 to 18 in employment or education.

Chiefs at Connexions, a Government guidance service for 13 to 19-year-olds, believe it is good news for both the individuals and local community development.

More than 20,000 16 to 18-year-olds throughout Herefordshire and Worcestershire are currently engaged in education or training which, Connexions bosses feel, is down to their involvement.

Wyre Forest team manager, Andy Farthing, said: "The majority of young people will need help or advice at some stage in their teenage years and the key to an effective service is one that is seen positively by the young people it is designed for."
