WYRE FOREST HISTORICAL RESEARCH GROUP - The group is producing a calendar for 2009 entitled, People and Places of the Wyre Forest, and needs old photographs. The group is especially short of photographs of Bewdley. A calendar roadshow will be held at Bewdley Library on Wednesday between 2pm to 4pm. Please take your photographs along.
WORCESTERSHIRE AUDIO VISUAL GROUP - The group held its AGM in March. A successful year was reported and the following officers elected for the coming year: Joint leaders Bill Every and Chris Smith, programme secretary Harry Hunt, general secretary Mrs Margaret Smith, treasurer Mrs Dorothy Every, committee members Mrs Marcia Tennant and Mrs Barbara Jones.
Mrs Diane Chater was thanked for her help in hiring the hall and the evening ended with a selection of sequences from Australian and other groups.
The group meets on the third Thursday of the month at Wribbenhall Community Centre at 7.30pm.
RAMBLERS ASSOCIATION - The group will be having a five mile walk around Ludlow on Saturday, April 12. Meet at 11am in Castle Square by the gates to the castle. Take a packed lunch. All welcome. Telephone Peter on 01299 405166 for more information.
BRITISH SUGARCRAFT GUILD - The guild will be holding its monthly meeting at Stourport Community Centre Memorial Park, Lickhill Road, on Thursday, April 10 at 7.30pm when branch members will be giving mini-demonstrations, following the AGM.
Various procedures are demonstrated to small groups giving more opportunity for the faint-hearted to be involved both practically and with questions.
Visitors are welcome to attend meetings held on the second Thursday of each month when a range of sugarcraft skills, from covering a cake to exquisite hand crafted flowers are demonstrated.
