WI - Members were saddened to hear of the death of Christine Pearson, a member for many years until she was unable to attend due to ill health.
Paula Smith opened her home, after moving back following the July 2007 floods, for a coffee morning in aid of institute funds on March 26. Twinned institute, Whitbourne, is joining a Stourport town walk in May, followed by afternoon tea at Church House.
The institute is holding an antiques valuation day with the expert Stephen Bruce in aid of the Village Hall on Saturday, July 5 when members of the public will be welcome. There will also be a bric-a-brac stall.
The speaker was Brian Eland of Droitwich Lions International. He explained their flag which symbolises learning from the past and looking to the future. They support many organisations including Water Aid, street children and autism charities and respond to emergencies when they arise.
The next meeting will be at Areley Kings Village Hall on Monday, April 14 at 7.30pm when the speaker will be Dorothy Norman on embroidery entitled out of India'.
