POLICE have renewed their appeal for witnesses to the collision in Kidderminster which left one person dead and another six injured.
It happened at about 12.15am yesterday at the junction of the A451 Minster Road and Oldington Lane, Kidderminster and involved a white Ford Transit van and a white Rover 216.
A 23-year-old man from Cookley, a front seat passenger in the Rover, sustained fatal injuries.
Police are not yet in a position to name him but are liasing with his family and hope to be able to release his details soon.
A 17-year-old Kidderminster girl, a rear passenger in the Rover, remains in a critical condition at Worcestershire Royal Hospital in Worcester.
A 17-year-old Kidderminster youth, also a rear passenger in the Rover, who had been in a critical condition yesterday, is showing signs of improvement and has been transferred from the hospital's critical care unit on to a ward.
An 18-year-old Kidderminster man, the driver of the Rover, is in a stable condition in intensive care in the Alexandra Hospital, Redditch.
PC Andy Saunders, of North Worcestershire road policing unit, said: "We are still seeking independent witnesses and anyone with information is asked to contact us on 08457 444888, extension 3143.
"We don't want people to assume others will ring in. Every piece of information could be vital to us in piecing together what happened.
A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has been bailed pending further inquiries.
