A WIDOW whose husband died in a motorcycle accident on her birthday is urging people to join a charity fun run.
Dee Meese's husband, Paul, a personal trainer at Fitness First, was killed on January 29, 2007, in Captain's Pool Road, less than a mile from the family home in Kidderminster.
The father-of-three was well-known at the Stourport Road centre, for his motivating classes and there is a stone plaque in his memory in the building's fitness studio.
Last year, more than 100 people tackled an 8km Turkey Fun Run as a tribute to Paul as part of a drive to raise money for Roadpeace, the accident victims' charity.
Mrs Meese, gym receptionist, wants people to pull on their trainers again for the next fun run, in aid of Noah's Ark Trust, at noon on Saturday. Would-be participants should get to the start line, at Fitness First, in good time to begin the 6km route along Stourport Road, along the canal towpath and back towards the gym through the Firs Industrial Estate.
Mrs Meese, 36, of Hawfinch Rise, said: "If Paul was here I know he would be saying you can do it'. He was that kind of person."
Noah's Ark gives dedicated one-to-one support to bereaved young people and has been a lifeline to the couple's three daughters, Kayleigh, 15, Chloe, 10 and Lauryn, 8.
