A COMPLEMENTARY therapist is offering to ease away all those aches and pains on behalf of the Back and Track appeal.
Cora O'Mahony, 54, of Burlish Park, Stourport, will be offering an exciting new massage at the knockdown price of £5 - a fifth of the usual cost - with all profits going towards the appeal.
The No Hands "back to basics" massage promises to release all tension and stress, to energise and detoxify and to help people reconnect with themselves, both emotionally and physically.
It lasts for a full-on 30 minutes and involves the therapist using the soft skin of her forearm for a deep and relaxing massage.
Sessions can be booked between Monday, May 5 and Friday, May 9 and can be arranged on a flexible basis, with evening massages also available.
Mrs O'Mahony is a lifelong member of Kidderminster and Stourport Athletic Club and a keen runner who has taken part in the London Marathon twice.
She said: "I was trying to think of something different to raise money for the appeal. Over the years I have done many things to raise funds for charity, generally involving some physical feat.
"Massage is a good way to help out in this case because people involved in sports all need a massage from time to time."
Mrs O'Mahony said sport was what led to her taking up a career in massage after she became interested in what happened to the body when it became injured.
She explained that sport was vital for young people and for any community because it provided a way to channel energy positively and effectively.
Mrs O'Mahony said: "I was devastated to hear the clubhouse had burned down. It was a focal point for the whole of Wyre Forest and Stourport Hockey Club and Kidderminster and Stourport Athletic Club are an essential part of that.
"The adults and kids at the clubs are now having to just make do and that is a great shame. It took a lot of effort for the clubs to be to set up in the first place. It's terrible what happened."
