THE Back on Track sponsored walk takes place this Sunday at 9am, starting and finishing at Stourport Sports Club.
The adapted Stourport circular walk will take in the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal, Wyre Forest Golf Centre, Burlish Top Nature Reserve, the riverbank and the town. The route is just over six miles, but there are opportunities to reduce the distance to two or four miles.
Mark Harradine, chairman of Stourport Hockey Club and event organiser, said he was pleased with the feedback so far.
He added: "It seems as though interest in the walk is certainly gathering pace. The weather, too, seems to be warming itself up ready for a good performance on the day."
He explained: "It stands to be a fantastic day out and, even if you get aching feet for a day or so, there is nothing better than getting a good dose of fresh air and taking in some of our beautiful local scenery."
He urged those wishing to take part to register online so that lunch can be organised. More details about the walk and how to register have now been posted on the hockey club website at www.stourport-hc.co.uk/walk.htm
