A POST Office will now move to a pub in Cookley following a public consultation.
The Post Office outreach service at Cookley Village Hall is now moving to the Eagle and Spur in the village.
The postmaster for Potter’s Cross Post Office, who operates Cookley Outreach Service, identified an opportunity to move this Post Office service to a more central location within the village.
There would be a dedicated Post Office serving position at the Eagle & Spur public house on Castle Road, which will have the same opening times as the previous location on Lea Lane. It will be open for an hour on Tuesdays between 9.30am and 10.30am.
In a letter to Post Office customers, Sarah Cottrell, network provision manager, said: “I would like to thank everyone who took the time to let us have their comments and provide information.
“After careful consideration of the feedback received, we remain confident that the location of the new service will continue to meet customer needs and deliver an excellent service, whilst securing the long term viability of Post Office services in the local community.
“We’re currently making the final arrangements for the move and further information will be provided once the dates have been agreed”.
