A YOUNG eco-champion from Hartlebury CE Primary School has scooped first place in a competition celebrating World Environment Day.
Joshua Tranter, aged eight, wowed judges at Stourport-based Morgan Advanced Materials with his 3D poster highlighting the dangers of litter and plastic in the sea on wildlife such as turtles.
Sophie Bartlett, head of school, said: “Joshua collected rubbish from the beach when on holiday in Borth, Wales, to make his poster for the competition, organised by Morgan’s where his dad works.
“Environment issues are a priority focus at school and we are so proud that Joshua wanted to highlight this dreadful pollution which is so harmful to marine life.”
His prizes included a goody bag from Morgan’s and an Amazon gift voucher.
