A SCHOOL has defended itself after being targeted by a fake account posting bizarre claims on social media.
An investigation by the school, which has been seen by the Newsquest, has shown that the woman's Facebook account is fake.
She falsely claimed on Facebook that Cutnall Green CofE Primary School, School Lane, near Droitwich, does not allow children to use the bathroom while at school.
However, worried parents responded that they had queried the claim with teachers and their children who said it was false.
One said: "Yes they are allowed. I've got a pupil here with me now and just asked her."
The account used the persona of a teacher from a school in London to post the rumour, which the school has strongly denied and clarified.
The claim was made on Droitwich Spotted, a public Facebook group with over 6000 members.
Stuart Grimes, headteacher of Cutnall Green Primary School, said children are able to go to the bathroom at school whenever they need to.
He said: "Children just need to ask at school and they are able to use the bathroom. They are encouraged to go at break time and lunch but if they need to use the bathroom they are always able to."
Staff at Cutnall Green contacted the school to find out whether the woman was really a member of the team.
It was then revealed that the account used was fake and the member of staff had not posted anything
The account also claimed they had a child in year three at the school, which Cutnall Green Primary School confirmed was not true as they had no parents at the school by the same name.
Cutnall Green Primary School, part of the Rivers Trust, has reported the post to the Droitwich Spotted Facebook group.
Our reporters contacted the account which made the claim but did not receive a response.
However, the account was only created the day before the false accusation was made - though it remains unclear why someone would target the school.
