These photographs from the Museum of Carpet archives are a look back at the town of Kidderminster over the years.

From Kidderminster’s original wooden viaduct, to the Municipal Baths, now replaced by a fitness and leisure centre, the town has undergone a number of expansions and changes.

Historian Michael Loftus has a series of talks at the Museum of Carpet running from January 2023, looking at the challenges the town of Kidderminster has faced during the growth of its international reputation for carpet manufacturing.

Talks span from the 1850’s, with a focus on Henry Chellingworth, up to the 1970’s with the creation of Kidderminster’s 320m sculpture relief wall.

Talks are £10 each or 5 for £45, making an ideal Christmas gift for history lovers. Tickets and more information on each talk can be found on museum-of-carpet.arttickets.org.uk/ or at the museum reception.
