A BRAND new name for the former Stourport Workmen's Club has been revealed ahead of its relaunch.
The historic club, which was closed down in August last year, has been saved and is undergoing a huge revamp.
Stourport entrepreneur Darren Richards, who is behind the relaunch, held a competition to help choose a new name for the Lickhill Road club.
Announcing the new name on Facebook, he said: "Although we fully respect the club’s history, we felt it needed to be updated to be more inclusive and help attract new customers and members as well as keep the existing ones.
"The people of Stourport have spoken. We have had so many great suggestions, so a huge thank you to everyone who participated and put their ideas forward. All very much appreciated.
"We have read them all, and there was one which was suggested more than others, and also encapsulated exactly what we were looking for.
"The new name for Stourport Workmen’s Club is The Severn’s Club".
