A PLAN to build more than 50 new homes on land near a railway station has been deferred.
Marmaris Investments Ltd is seeking planning permission for 52 properties on a field on the northern edge of Blakedown, off Station Drive.
Nearly 50 people have objected to the plans, raising concerns over the scale of development in relation to the village, increases in congestion, and the impact on wildlife.
Churchill & Blakedown Parish Council previously objected to the development land being removed from the green belt.
The application also seeks to safeguard land for future car parking to serve Blakedown Railway Station.
The application went before Wyre Forest District Council's planning committee on Tuesday (April 18).
Councillors decided unanimously to defer the application for a site visit. Additional information on the application will also be provided to the members of the committee.
