THE funeral arrangements for a "loyal" former council chairman have been announced.
Gordon Yarranton, who previously served as chairman of Wyre Forest District Council and Worcestershire County Council, passed away on Monday, April 10, aged 80.
His funeral will take place on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at St Leonards Church in Ribbesford at noon.
A cremation service at will be held at Wyre Forest Crematorium in Kidderminster at 1.30pm followed by a wake being held at Wolverley Memorial Hall.
Paying tribute, former councillor Stephen Clee said: "Gordon was a loyal, honest and deeply rooted politician who always put people first.
"He will be sorely missed by politicians on all sides”.
The chief executive of Wyre Forest District Council, Ian Miller said: “He was well known in the community and was a dedicated ward councillor and served as chairman in my first full municipal year with the council".
