A MAN has sadly died after a crash in Stourport on Severn this morning.
The crash happened on the A451 Minster Road just before 8am this morning (Tuesday May 23) with the air ambulance sent to the scene.
Sadly, the driver of a blue Jeep Grand Cherokee, a man aged 61, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have put out an appeal for witnesses.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said the vehicle was travelling towards Stourport-on-Severn when it left the road and crashed into a tree.
West Midlands Ambulance Service sent two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham to the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “On arrival, crews discovered one car had been involved in a collision and the driver, a man, was in a critical condition.
“Ambulance staff immediately began administering advanced life-support but unfortunately, despite everyone’s best efforts, it soon became apparent that he could not be saved and was confirmed dead at the scene.”
The road has been reopened.
