A FORMER hotel near Kidderminster could be converted into a luxury home with a swimming pool and gym.
It is proposed to turn the Grade II listed Ismere Hall hotel, also known as Iverley House near Blakedown into a family home which would include a refurbishment and extension.
A document accompanying the application submitted to Wyre Forest District Council notes: “Originally the house was a dwelling and its conversion to a hotel many years ago was a compromise and in most cases the rooms stayed exactly the same apart.
“It is intended to refurbish all parts of the existing buildings paying special attention to the architectural and historic merits of the listed buildings.
“In order to provide a new set of family orientated spaces it is proposed to construct an extension to the west of the main house and make some minor amendments to the internal layouts of the house.
“The accommodation proposed in the extension is a large open plan family kitchen with open plan family room and both spaces have access to usable outside spaces and terraces.”
It is also proposed that the north barn should be an entertainment suite containing a large swimming pool, gym and changing rooms.
The outbuildings which are former hotel rooms and garages could be converted into a two-storey home that is annexed to the main house as a guest suite.
A new garage building is proposed to be built on the site.
A document notes: “The garage accommodation shown will be suitable for three or four vehicles and will be set out and organized in a way that will display the collectable vehicles in a suitable, spacious manner.”
Currently, Ismere Hall has seven bedrooms, a library, several bathrooms, a kitchen, a living room, a dining room, a scullery, and a section of the house which was used as staff quarters.
