WYRE Forest District Council has removed the bridge at Springfield Park in Kidderminster after it was vandalised.
The council initially shut the bridge at the park in July after it was deemed unsafe and in need of repair work.
However, the council has now confirmed that since the closure last month, the bridge has been hit by vandalism.
The bridge was subsequently removed by the council earlier this week, which will be replaced.
In a post on social media, Wyre Forest District Council said: "The bridge in Springfield Park was shut in July because it was unsafe and needed repairing.
"Since the closure there has been ongoing vandalism, because of this we had to remove the bridge yesterday morning, Monday 7 August.
"We are working to secure a contractor to replace the bridge. We are also working closely with the Environment Agency".
